The second grade class had toured the nearby fire station. The kids were eager to clamber aboard the fire engine and tour the fire house. After the tour, the teacher, she asked a few questions to see what had impressed the young minds of her wards.
Noticeable at the station was the obligatory dalmatian, a handsome specimen of a firehouse dog.
The teacher raised the question: "Why do you suppose the firemen have a dog go along on the fire engine?"
One young boy, savvy for his age, spoke up, "I think he helps them find the fire plug."
