Not necessarily It just signifies a newly produced SBH.

To my untrained eye the steel of the cylinder is a slightly different color meaning is is a different composition than the rest of the gun. I know Ruger used several different steels in the 454 SRH. Is it a short barreled .454???

Opps, Ruger always puts the extra "45 Colt / 454 Casull" band on the cyl of the 454 guns. Must be 44 mag or 460 or 480.

That's a factory short pin.

It's not a five shot, the bolt notches are in the right place for a six-shot. Just looks like a short barrelled Super to me. Which is pretty cool!

I went and looked at my five shots and you are sure right.
As someone who is less than a day or two away from chopping the barrel off a BH, I am anxiously awaiting word on whether this is a factory gun.

Hold off on chopping! Look closely, or maybe not so close and there's a hint "spelled" out regarding it being factory

I see it sitting on a 2011 catalog. Maybe I will see this gun in Vegas in a few weeks?

I had a 45 Colt Sheriff once upon a time. They ejected fine.

I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the SBH on top of the magazine. I'm not up on the Ruger semi auto pistols and don't know what everyone is wanting for the next model but I'm gonna guess this may be what all are waiting for in the semi auto ''wish lists"?
