Factory cased ammo as a general category is exempt from sales tax according to this. The detailed list is poorly written, and does cause some confusion among consumers and sellers. :roll:

I've bought ammo during the tax holiday in the past and no sales tax was applied. Which was a real savings when the shop also applies a 10% LEO/Military discount. :)

According to the MSAW holiday as passed in the
2014 Legislative Session, Sales Tax is not due
during the holiday on the sale of firearms,
ammunition and certain hunting supplies as defined
below.
