Why do they kep saying Sears owns KMart when it was KMart which bought Sears?

I understand if you have a ratchet which has failed they give you a rebuild kit for it.

To repair it you need circlip pliers, which they will gladly sell you. Now THAT is upselling!

My last trip to Sears was when I had a rainy day tool reorganization session and decided to replace several missing sockets, ratchets wrenches, etc. Just wanted to make some sets complete again. Drove over, gathered up a considerable basket of tools and finally noticed something I didn't like, "Made in China". Every tool I had in my basket was so stamped with the exception of a screw driver set. I put everything back where I found it and walked out. I will not shop there again.

Sears delivered our washer and dryer yesterday on time. They even hooked it up and took away the old ones. Not dead yet.

Our local Sears went to perdition when then moved from downtown in their own store to the mall. I remember the old downtown Sears as a wonderful and intriguing place to go as a kid, and a great little sporting goods department there when I was a teenager and young adult. I haven't been in the "mall" store in years.

Our local Sears store is one the stores that are privately owned...not sure what they call them. Anyway, it is locally owned and well managed...Sears just has nothing that I am interested in. I have Craftsman handtools...but when I need something now, I usually buy another brand.

Montgomery Wards slowly died off AFTER they waited too long to move from their OLD downtown stores with the wooden floors into the NEW shopping malls being built. Sears sometimes OWNED a considerable interest in the those New Malls being built.
