LGS had a Blackhawk 5.5" .44 SPCL. "Had" because it will come home by the end of the week. :)

How are the Lipsey's different from the "regular" catalogued ones. Just curious as to what I have, going to try to wear it out either way.
Thanx
Kevin

Lipsey's sold the production lot of them - all the cataloged model AFAIK.

There are quite a few "Ruger Employee" 44 Specials also. Little gun shop in AZ had three last month. I passed on the nicest at $399 (used-ANIB) and still don't know why I did. :(

Lipsey's ordered a special run of 2,000 (IIRC) 44 Spcl Blackhawks from Ruger and were only available through them. The revolvers were such a hit that someone at Ruger thought that it would be a good idea to cataloge 44 Spcl revolvers, which is where you find them now. There really is no difference between the current production 44 Spcl Blackhawks and the Lipsey's versions. The revolvers built on the new mid-sized frame (New Vaquero, Montado, 50th Anniversary Blackhawks, and 44 Spcl Blackhawks) have been some of the best built to ever leave SR&C IMO.

Enjoy it is all that I can say!

Are these marked with "USED" only on the box label? I presume there isn't a "U" or asterisk in front of the serial number?
