As I’m chopping the grass with my totally cool and semi quiet electric lawn mower. (Saving the greenhouse gasses for my truck to drive around town aimlessly.)

I begin to wonder why don’t those in the know make some GMO grass that only grows so high and that’s it. ???

They can make tomatoes of VERY SPECIFIC sizes. They took the seeds out of watermelons, they even make “personal” sized watermelons.

Is it a conspiracy to keep the lawnmower companies in business? Perhaps a conspiracy to keep the “undocumented” persons employed ???? What is it?

My wife brings up the subject of "limited length grass" at least once a year during our lawn mowing season. :)

Look into Buffalo Grass. Drought tolerant, max height of about 4 inches, spreads via rhizomes, and created in Iowa by crossbreeding other prairie grasses. You can plug you existing lawn and, If I remember correctly, it will take over.

Sounds good except it doesn't tolerate shade and a great deal of my yard is in shade in the afternoon and evening. .

I have a wonderfully drought resistant and low maintenance yard. It's called river rock. A few roses for my wife to tend to scattered around.

Oh sometimes I do have to blow if some leaves but that's it.

Ever heard of the military/industrial complex? Why do you need to ask the question. Think about the multi-billion dollar industry that goes along with growing and maintaining a lawn. I just got a card from my irrigation guy that it is time to schedule the yearly startup/review. :cool:

AND once it 'takes over' getting rid of it is very difficult.

Grasses 'spread via rhizomes' are one of the most difficult species to control in crops since they don't sprout from seeds.
