Well, as the title states, I am officially on the LCP band wagon........ And dang proud of it!!!

All of the great reviews I've been reading pushed me over the edge. Carrying the P345 all of the time isn't always doable for me so I'm looking forward to having another option.

I went with the standard black model as I couldn't justify $30 more for the green one and get no benefit. Heck, that's an extra magazine! Believe it or not, they even had a WWB ammo so that I can take it out and shoot it. 380 is hard to find around my house.

On a side note, it seems that the prices have steadily been going up. The cheapest standard one I could find was for $319 and one shop wanted $369. I'm looking forward to taking it out for a round or two.....

Thanks!

I just got back from the range with it's first outing. I fired 50 rounds of the Winchester white box FMJ ammo. I had two FTE that were consecutive around shots 36 & 37. It worried me at first, but I wrote it off to breaking in the new gun. Also, I'm not used to holding such a small auto and I could have limp wristed it.

Now I just need to find some more ammo to feed it......

Congrats,

I just bought my wife a new two tone LCP today for $319. Plan on testing it out in a few days and I hope it runs well.

Let me guess...cranberry? Lol thats what my wife wants!

I'm glad somebody likes them. I traded for one and got in it right. Light, easy to carry. Horrendious sight picture, and a 1" trigger pull to boot. Very promptly traded it off and will try the Kahr 380 or the Sig 238. I have a pretty nice stable of OM Rugers and love em, but it was more than 40yrs ago that we sent men to the moon and surely a better trigger can be made than the one they are using in it. I would also change the sites up so tritium sites could at least be installed if owner so wished.

I don't find the trigger as bad as you describe. Honestly, since there is no safety, I don't want a light trigger pull. My groups were more than acceptable at ten yards where I shot from. Are the triggers known to vary in quality?

I do agree about the sights. It wasn't difficult in the daylight, but in low light it would be almost impossible to use them. I did order the Crimson Trace to install on the gun.

Good luck on the other 380s if you go that route. I have a friend with the Sig and he likes it a lot. I'm looking forward to shooting it some day.

I find it to be a gun for use at handshake distances and no more. Sort of like a Derringer in that respect. There's no aiming with those sights. But that is all consistent with the role of civilian concealed carry, as far as I'm concerned.

Most small .380's are to be considered what you said.

I train with my LCP from 1 yard to 10 yards. Most social work with the LCP is to be conducted at that range and instinctive shooting with this pistol is a must. I'd say that most close in social work should be done with instinctive shooting as well as positions where you don't have time to get into the perfect shooting stance. I've been practicing firing in a variety of positions to ensure I can still hit my intended target(s) should I find myself in a compromising position, like say I'm at an ATM and someone comes up behind me and throws me to the ground and attacks.

I like my little LCP. It took the place of my NAA that is now my truck gun. I think the trigger is perfect for a pocket gun. Many don't like the long takeup. I do and it's much better than my NAA.

krw, have you tried the Kahr? I have 2 and one's a micro .40. It too has a long takeup and might be just a bit smoother than my LCP. In the real world I can't tell much difference. I havn't tried their .380 so don't know if it's better than their 9-40 micros.

Maybe I should, but I can't picture myself lining up sights if I ever have to use it now.

Love it, hate it; that's why we have so many choices when it comes to what works for each of us.

No I have not tried the trigger on the Kahr 380. I handled one but it was new and did not try trigger. I liked the size and weight. I really like the Sig 238. Size is great, quality, like the nite sites. Downside on the Sig is its heaver and single action. I realize all these are pocket guns that are going to be used at probly no more than 6 ft. Probably the main requirement on any of these is ease of carrying, If you ain't got it you can't use it!

Also consider that you can almost buy two LCPs for the price of the Sig. As much as I like Sigs and single actions, I just can't get excited enough about that little gun to shake that much money loose for it.

I agree, Yosemite. I looked at it and really liked what I saw. For what you spend on it, however, there is a whole other market of better and more practical pistols available.

Howdy, I just started the break in process for my new LCP. I really like the little pistol but will have to get use to that long DAO trigger pull. I put two boxes of ball and 1/2 of PD through it flawlessly. I also have a Tarus TCP with is has single action trigger but no safety. Make me a little nervous to pocket carry with a round in the chamber...the reason for the Ruger LCP. The TCP now lives full time in the car where soft triggers don't mattter very much.
