We pulled tickets for my conservation club's 10 gun raffle last night. I, who has never been known to win so much as a 50/50 won the first firearm. A Ruger American Gen II 300 win. YEAH ME!
Since I don't hunt, I'm confident that I'll take store credit for something else, but it was sure nice to have a win.
I'm mostly a Ruger pistol guy but have a S&W FPC carbine that I like to shoot and at this point in my life I can't imagine what I'd want to have.
Maybe an air/pellet long gun would be fun or maybe a 22LR that I could target 100 yards.
I really don't understand why I even bought tickets other that supporting the club.

I too have been fortunate in this realm as of late. I used my winnings to get a Remington 1100.

Been on the other side too. Bought TWO marlin M60S rifles from one guy for $400 and raffled one for a 501(c)(3) and sold the other locally to an acquaintance. A few months later I tried to buy the one I sold back but the guy wouldn't. I think he's since passed. Hope is grandkids enjoy it I guess. Can't get them for $200 each any more. Easy come, easy go.

Not that you all have been waiting, anticipating the outcome...
I ended up with a Benjamin Marauder in 25.
I went to order from my LGS and as soon as I said Benjamin the guy I've dealt with before said, "like the one on the counter that I just took in?"
It was slightly used (2 magazines) and had been waiting to be fired for the last 2 years. The previous owner also sold them the 10X scope, air compressor, 4 tins of pellets, case, extra mag and other accessories.
We had a deal in 5 minutes. I'm not sure what he gave for it but I'm happy and he appeared happy too. It's something that I'll gift to my Son in law and I'll ask him to gift me his "cheapy" air rifle for chippy.

Congrats on winning!

I always say you can't win if you don't play.

But I also look at it like I'm making a contribution to a good cause,, and if I win something,, well, that's just good!
And boy have I made a lot of “contributions” over the years and I’m still waiting for my first win… lottery, raffle, karma, 50/50, hat draw, you name it I’ve lost every way known 😒 It’s hard to stay positive but who knows maybe one of these days my name/number will come up 🤔

We have events around here called "gun bashes. Basically a a day long gun raffle with food and beer. Usually done as fund raisers for fire departments.

I buy tickets to support the volunteer firefighters (serious props to those guys) but have never won a thing. On the other hand, a friend goes to them with her husband and comes home with a free gun every time.

I also just won a fire dept raffle. I won a little S&W bodyguard 2.0 380. not a pistol I would've ever bought but winning is winning

Congratulations on your great score! I never win either. What have you done with your new rifle since you got it in the winter?

I absolutely LOVE these rifles. Beauties. The tube load is my favorite as well.

I've gifted it to my son in law. He, in turn, has reduced the population of ground hog, chipmunks, and other assorted critters.

What is wild is that I have won 2 20 gauge Coach Guns about 25 years apart.
I bought the 1st ticket from a miserable bastard that I used to work with. He was selling gun raffle tickets and asked me if I was interested. I looked and said that the only thing I might be interested in was the 20-gauge double barrel and handed him the ticket back... He got all pissed off and started screaming. I bought the ticket just to shut him up and thought it was worth the $10 to shut him up.
Lo and behold!! ( I love those words) I get a phone call from the sportsman's club telling me that I had won a gun from them and the guy calling me started laughing. He said that when I was drawn for the 20-gauge Coach Gun the guy who sold me the ticket stood up and started swearing his head off about me and that I shouldn't have won it. It's a Baikal made in Russia and I think it's a good shotgun.
The 2nd one I won doesn't have a great story like that but it's funny that I have won 2 20-gauge Coach Guns. How often does that happen? The 2nd one is a Stoeger.
