Me: only a simple field strip for cleaning. I never do a detail disassembly unless I'm doing some sort of mod or there is a mechanical issue that needs to be addressed.
This topic reminded me of a visit to a local gunshop about 8 years ago. The proprietor also did gunsmithing on the side and while I was perusing the aisles looking at bullets and brass he was taking a call from a customer who wanted to bring in two auto shotguns for a pre-hunting season cleaning and ops check.
So during the course of checking out at the register I got into a conversation with the proprietor about that subject, and learned he has regular customers that drop off their shotguns about two weeks before hunting season begins for cleaning and function check. They shoot all season long, put them up, then repeat the following season.
It just never occurred to me to actually pay someone to clean my guns, but to each his own.
