How did I do? Traded again!!

I have no experience with the Mini 14 but I was at my pushers today and he just took in a NIB 2001 SS Wood stocked Mini with five 20 rd Ruger Mags. as a trade on an AR. Well I figured it is time for a defense rifle sooo. Got all for a total of $569. Good, bad or so-so??

I will pick up this gun tommorow and post some pics. I have been researching scope mounting options and I don't see any reliable options. Does anyone know of a replacement stock with a rail on the handguard for a Red dot??? I may have to trade it for a Ranch Rifle if I can't get a good scope mount on it. The big knob side mounts just have too many bad reviews.

I always like to clean a new gun and check it out before I shoot it. May be some gunk inside. Thanks for the link. I checked that out but I am afraid to mess with the gas block to mount it! Ruger says not to. I hope to find a stock or some way without the side mt or gas block part. A whole stock maybe?

A very good buy, in my opinion. The stainless Mini-14 is one of my favorites. Have fun shooting it!

I need help!!! Know a good shrink?? I was at my LGS again today and mentioned the lack of a reliable scope mount for the Mini 14 I bought last week. He said "hang around until UPS comes, I have the answer". I should have ran! His answer was a Davidson exclusive, laminated stock, Ranch Rifle with the Ruger rings! Well after playing with it for a while I traded the new 2001 Mini (still not shot) for this one. Had to borrow a pic from Davidson's and GunsAmerica temporarily.

With a scope it shot okay. Mine is actually at ASI getting some upgrades right now.
