I was trying to come up with a suitable holster for my Lipsey's 3 3/4" SBH so I got a fellow across the mountain to make what I wanted. Weak side carry with lots of protection for the gun. He made it from horse hide and I have it on an old Bianchi cartridge belt. Should carry good when bear & hog season gets here.

I am afraid you are going to have a bit of a hard time pulling due to the leather under the grips edging up.
Compare to these designs that allow quick draw and help put trigger finger on the trigger as quickly as possible:

You might have tried to follow this design, but made it too deep:

Actually using horse hide, it comes out easily. I wanted full protection without going the flap route. It's not intended to be a "fast draw" type holster with the open triggerguard.

Great trail and ramblin' holster. One of the best I have seen.

I like the sight,guard protection.

(After many custom$$$ holsters I ended up with a Triple K Flap style for my 44 Special)

The new Lipsey's guns are in a Bisley configuration all the way with the short (3.75") barrel. This is a limited run of really cool "packing" guns.
