Hey, Cholo, are you a Vols fan??

I live south of Chattanooga, though it is the closest city to me. I love the State of TN, but that State line is really thick when it comes to college football :)

let's go fighting Irish !!! ( kicked Syracuse butt today)

Chattanooga boy here with a wife who graduated from UT. After 2 decades of being in the cellar, it's not a bad feeling to be a Vol fan right about now.
We have paid our dues, and then some. Georgia will be a great game this year! Two really good teams with excellent coaches.

Vol fans are really dedicated. Many years ago, Nita and I were on vacation and we were travelling on a Saturday, a football game day. We stopped, not sure where, for lunch, somewhere east of Nashville. The restaurant was literally aglow with folks wearing orange. And we had gotten the last motel room in Knoxvile for that night. Tennessee was playing some team called the Gaiters, or something like that.

I graduated from UTK and I wouldn't give the Vols air if they were in a jug.
When I took a leave to get my degree, I first went to the career development
center and together we devised a plan to achieve my goal. I went to school
all year, graduated with a 3.7 GPA in 3 years by taking every hour they would
allow. Worked 2 part-time jobs, drove 120 miles round trip each day and never
missed a day no matter what the weather. All that only to find out that the
job I busted my a$$ to get had an age limit and I was 2 years over the.
They knew from day one I would be too old but didn't factor that in to our
plan cause I was money in the bank to them.
And to add insult to injury, they refused to put Magna Cum Laude on my
diploma because in completing every hour required to graduate, I lacked
1/2 hour of "ON Campus Time". They wanted me to take another semester
of IDK Basket Weaving, anything to get that money! Me, with a wife and kid,
home and land, needing to get back to work fulltime desperately, and they
wanted me to waste a semester just so they could add my tuition fee to
their coffers and support their football team.
How I feel about UT would get me banned from this site if I expressed
it so use your imagination.

Hey bookemdano, you are not the only one that has had this done to them. One of my grandson’s girlfriend went through the line last spring not knowing she lacked 2 hours to graduate.

As long as UT gets your money, they could care less if you get what you paid for.
I have a habit of sending them a letter reminding them of what they did every
time they send me a request for donations,
She needs to do the same. Don't resolve anything but it makes me feel better.
