Hello from MA

Hi All,
Greetings from Massachusetts!
I just found this forum pursuing my interest in collecting US service weapons and National Match pistols!
I'm an engineer by trade and an 07 FFL which makes living in a less than gun-friendly state a bit more interesting!
Welcome from the semi-free state of Maine.

I'm originally from western Mass., Montague. Left there to join the Navy in 1968.

Welcome, but living in MA make my state of Illinois seem like like 2nd Amendment heaven. I think MA is the only state where being found in possession of a handgun without the appropriate license means a mandatory year in prison with the prosecutor and the presiding judge having no discretion. One of my sons lives in the Boston area, having moved there because of a job opportunity for his attorney wife. I can't even visit him and his family without having to face the choice of making the entire trip unarmed, or risking the serious consequences of being in that state with a firearm in my vehicle. But I wish you the best of luck for the future and welcome you to this forum.

The gun laws in MA are an incoherent patchwork that is meant to confuse, obfuscate, and intimidate law abiding citizens from exercising their 2A rights. It’s shameful.
If I wasn’t born/raised here with my entire family and business I would escape north to NH where my vote actually matters and the gun laws are nearly non-existent.

welcome to the Forum, liked our time up there in Monson, Ma., at the old school house learning from Mr Wesson to build his "new" revolvers, still have my 15-2VH 6 we built there, more accurate than any 'smiff'; or colt we owned back then...but yes for the past many years its all been Rugers for us, especially after my wife was a Field Rep for the RCA....was fun to switch over and never really look back, all just memories.. ;) (y)(y)

...and yes will just stay here in NE Ohio we at least have all the 'fresh water' we will ever need........:cool:

That is absolutely amazing!

Welcome from a fellow Masshole. Living here as a gun owner is challenging that's for sure. I'm actually seeing signs of a turning tide on the insane gun laws though. Massachusetts judges recently threw out two cases involving NH residents who were arrested for possessing a firearm while in the Commonwealth. Saying that constitutional rights don't end at state lines. Also keeping my fingers crossed that Maura's latest attack on the 2A won't make constitutional muster. Like the USA, Massachusetts is a beautiful place but is ruled by the liberal big cities.

Welcome to the Ruger Forum. From your intro, it sounds like all your handguns are pistols. I am a revolver person - .357 and .45 LC/ACP Rugers. But there is room for all kinds here in this forum! So, welcome from another Arizonian!

Nope. Probably 60% of my Ruger handguns are revolvers. And in terms US service weapons maybe half are revolvers.
If it has a "US" stamp on it, I'm interested!

Wow! You mentioned US Service weapons, and the 9mm pistol has been the standard since the '80s. So, when were these service pistols in service, and by what service? Glad to hear that you have revolvers also! I see one of them is a Ruger .357 Mag revolver, and it is VERY clean! What model is it?

Welcome from 🌞 sunny California! !! I was born and raised in Mass. Southeastern Mass near beginning of Cape Cod.....Met a girl from CA close to 40 years ago now. 3 grown kids and now 7 grandchildren, the time has flown. One thing for sure, is that the politicians from both of these states were all pooped out of the same smelly rear end !! 😳
