Hello everybody, and I have a question for other SR22 owners

I just purchased my SR22 a few days ago. I noticed once I got home that the mag release button from either the left or the right is very loose and actually wobbles back-and-forth when the magazine has been inserted. When a magazine is not inserted it has normal spring tension. When the magazine is inserted the button is loose and you have to press it all the way down to get the magazine to release. I've tried to go back to examine another gun in the store but no one has one in stock. Can anyone tell me if this loose mag release button behavior is normal? None of my other semi-autos have this issue.

Thanks

Possibly the mag catch is not fully engaging the magazine. Does this happen with an empty or loaded mag? Suggestion: push the magazine "firmly" in place and see if the button is less "wobbly".

The magazine catch defect has been discussed in the past on this forum and others. Send it back to Ruger for repair. They fixed mine and now it works great.
