We haven't been to a movie in years, never watch network TV, and not remotely interested in supporting H-weird, but I'm always up for a good western. It's 3 hours and supposed to be the first of 4 three hour movies. We don't want to set ourselves up for what could potentially be a 12 hour Western Woke-athon. According to wikipedia, KC did support Traitor Joe in 2020.

It flopped, and that pleases me greatly! Costner lost most of his fan base...Myself included...When he outed himself as just another Hollywood leftist.

Absolutely NO INTEREST!! Costner lost any support when he stood us up at the Native American premiere of "Dances with Wolves" and his arrogance the one time I ran into him (LITERALLY, as he was PUSHING people out of his way in a market!).

Costner plays Costner, regard less of whether it is "Waterworld", "The Postman", etc. BORING as an actor!

Never understood why anyone that watches a move etc actually believe the Character they play is the same one in life. I found out as a young child that Andy of Mayberry was a Ahole. (in real life). Meet him again as a adult. Hollywood pay's millions of to these Fake people. And they losse touch with Reality. Then as some kind of guilt with so much money they go on these "Crusades". (of which most of the time they know nothing about)

The article I read said Costner put up his own money for it. Know your audience, dumba$$. I wonder if he cares how the cookie crumbles now? He's advertising the crap out of it on Pandora, which in itself suggests a level of desperation in trying to get people to go see the thing. People see the characters these arrogant pricks play and equate it to the actor, who are more fake than the characters.

Heck, I will tune in to just watch her. (Besides I love westerns, horse's and the great Outdoors, born a century too late)

I sat through Horizon part 1. I like Westerns.
With that said Horizon was ok. I hope it gets
better.

Horizon's back and forth scenes between all
the different characters and their struggles
was some what confusing, it was hard to
identify with the characters.

I would not recommend Horizon to individuals
that do not enjoy Westerns.

I agree with what Norseman said. It was okay but it jumps back and forth between 4 or 5 completely different stories and characters. Guess they'll all come together at the town of Horizon in the second movie. I love westerns but I would give this first one 3 stars out of 5. The entire movie is just setting up the characters stories to come together for the second movie.

I have to agree, the theme jumps around alot. My wife and I have been to movies only 2 times, in the least 10 years. I was informed that I will going to part 2 by myself.

My wife and I loved it, we went to a Sunday matinee on a 100deg day in Oklahoma and it was great. I did have to go to the bathroom one time in the 3 hours but that's my fault for getting old. We are both anxious to see part 2. Plenty of action and awesome scenery.

Even though Costner always plays himself I have always liked his flicks. Other actors have also generally been in this self portrayal category like John Wayne but I liked his movies also.

My protest (if I can call it that) against hypocrisy is to boycott his movie theater distributed movies, and brand new made for at home viewing media. I would however buy the complete boxed set used at a thrift store, Ebay or some such denying any financial gain to the hypocrite. It could be said that even buying used media ultimately supports the creators but that's a thin argument.

My wife said the same thing. The movie was choppy and moved from one thing to another with little info to tie it all together. The last 5 minutes was a freakin' speed presentation and then just stopped and left you hanging with a lot of open ends!
I saw it and it was OK but I don't think I'll be seeing any part 2 or 3 myself. It will surprise me if Costner doesn't lose his arse on this one! I could se part one being the only part we'll ever see!

I was going to write Costner to try to prompt him to make a movie of the Allen Eckert book "The Frontiersman" but think I won't now! He'd mess up a really fine story that needs to be made into a movie IMO! Kevin sure isn't the one!

I liked "The Revenant" much better and I despise Leonardo DiCaprio!
Maybe he needed a big loss for tax purposes!
