I was in Washington for the Marine Corps Marathon 2 weeks ago.
On the Monday night after the race my wife and I went out and walked
about 10 miles around the monuments. Took some cell phone
pictures and thought this one would fit with this thread.

My Mother was a Marine during WWII
My Father was a Marine during WWII
They were both stationed in El Centro and met following Dad's return from the South Pacific, and married after the war ended. Women Marines were not allowed to be married while in the service, at that time, so they waited until they were discharged at the end of the war.
Dad's youngest brother Morgan was a marine who was killed on Okinawa. Morgan was 18 yrs old
My cousin Joe was a Marine during Vietnam and was deployed to Vietnam for a year.
I always have a little private celebration to celebrate the marines in our family.
