Gun show stuff you won't see in the major newspapers

Where were you? I am down rt 155 just before you cross I-95.
The crowd is just that. . .a crowd. It is difficult to just move from one table to the next. Occasionally a good find is there if you look hard enough. They do serve great coffee though. Have no idea what kind but it is good.

Harford County, where the show is located, is STRONGLY Republican. Our sheriff is pushing for a change in the laws so concealed carry is available to all.

I lived right off 24, just before you get to the intersection of 543, in Amyclae East. I enjoyed the state of Maryland, just NOT the state government!

How can that be? 543 and 24 are miles apart and never intersect. Sure you don't mean 22 and 543? Near the Burger King and Rite Aid.

But we here in Illinois have to have a Firearm Owners Identification Card to OWN a firearm.
Want to make everybody outlaws? Revoke all the cards. Then seize the illegal guns. :x

I saw that and questioned what was actually happening. I have bought more that one gun from a gun show and never been fingerprinted or checked. I do know that the State now has a system in place to check, through your fingerprints, if you have any outstanding anything or have ever been arrested. I visited someone that was in prison and had my fingerprint checked. Perhaps that is the same system that was shown. However no matter if you showed that you were OK, the paperwork and 7 day wait period would still be required prior to actually acquiring a revolver/pistol of any kind except black powder. For a rifle all that is needed is the Fed paperwork and 'instant' check.

That is exactly what the FOID cards are designed for... :evil: Just amend the FOID "rules" so that no one can keep up with them, and criminals are manufactured.
It has already happened with owner/item registration in several states. Read Alan Korwin.

You have to have a CCW to buy? Or is that just a convenience so you don't have to fill out the NICS paper like it is in MS?

NOPE; It's just that WITHOUT a CCW you have a three day wait; With the CCW you still fill out the Form 1143, but it's called in and approved and you walk out the door firearm in hand. It's NOT required for a purchase, it just saves time and lets you carry your self protection concealed all the time.

A minor difference then from MS. No wait period regardless, unless there's a glitch at NICS.

I think you already know we don't require a permit to carry, concealed or otherwise. Folks who travel out of State usually will have a permit tho. Purely voluntary.
