Why did Hornady feel it was nessesary to shorten the 45 Colt case to load the 225 FTX? I bought a box of 25 of these ($23.00) just to try and they were not real acc. in my gun although they are very acc in others. My point is, if someone would like the short cases the first PM gets them free. I will send them to you. I don't want to load any 225 FTX bullets.

I would imagine the round ojive left them with a more rearward than normal area of the projectile to crimp in. In order to get the correct over all length they had to shorten the case. Kind of a pain in the neck for reloaders though.

PS I have no need for them either, nice offer though.

Thats the first. 45 SHORT COLT ever produced. Hornady was just off on its terminology.

I'm not a fan of the ammo/cases either.

Its the same with the .357 cases also, but they will work well when I want to load up some 358429's for my Model 27.

I could use them. I 've shortened a dozen cases for the Hornady ftx bullets I have. They shoot good out of my Blackhawk and Marlin but Id rather not shorten any more cases.

I'm sorry twobisquit,
protoolman asked for them 4/30. Sent them out this AM. I got a way to shoot the ftx bullets in 45 Colt now with full length case's. SRH 454. may try a few.
:D
