Just curious , why chrome a stainless gun?

It is an awesome looking finish. It will not scratch. My SPs have all scratched pretty heavily when carried a lot and I have actually had rust on a stainless Ruger. BUT, the hard chrome is a beautiful matte "bright" finish.
