Made by Zavodi Crvena Zastava these 98 Mausers are some of the best bolt action guns ever made. This one is chambered in the factory offering of 30-06 and has one of the best factory stocks. It also has quick disconnect sling swivels and a leather strap. On top is a one-piece scope base with matching rings. In them sits a 3-9x50 Horizons scope with dust covers. This rifle also has iron sights if you decide that you don't want to use it with a scope at long range.
These Mausers feature a thumb safety, factory curved bolt handle (to clear a scope), and all of the standard 98 Mauser safety features like three locking lugs, and a controlled feeding system from the integrated magazine where the claw extractor grabs the case as it leaves the magazine. The 98 Mauser incorporates gas-venting holes in the bolt body that direct gas downward into the magazine and a gas deflecting flange on the bolt sleeve to protect the user from a pierced primer sending back gas along the locking lug raceways.
The condition of this one is very good. It has fired less than 100 rounds, living oiled in the safe in prep for hunting trips that never happened. It has some handling marks from two house moves and the occasional range trip, but overall is very good.
