I've spent a good part of the last three weeks up in the north part of my state in a little town called Friars Point. This town is in the MS delta and is right next to the mighty Mississippi River. It is a neat little town. Here are a few pics i took while poking around.

While out in the cotton and bean fields i found a couple grave sites. Kinda odd seeing them literally in the middle of the fields. Story has it there used to be tennant farmer shacks out there and these sites were for them.

Times were tough back then.

Neat old barn

Moving on into town, i found some neat stuff.

This house was shelled by Union vessel during the civil war.

And this church was put theough it. But has endured.

Bees anyone?

There's a few more pics in the album.

Yea i agree.

With my job i get to see lots of neat places. We stumbled on an abandoned steel fabrication shop from the 60's and 70's on a recent job. No road to it except an old abandoned gravel road that obviously hadn't seen traffic in years. But there it was. Sittin next to the railroad track. There were four of these.

Then there's always that odd tree in an old home site.
