I'm trying to put together a Christmas gift for my wife.

I've purchased the gun, and the original manual, and have the gun at the gunsmith for a tune up.

I know this is a long shot, but to bring it all together, I would really like to find one of the old factory boxes.

Generic is fine, but if it has a tag on the end that says "Security Six, .357 Magnum, 2 3/4 " barrel", that would be awesome.

If you have one of these laying about, but your gun is long gone, please PM me and let me know how much you would want for it.

Thanks,
Nate

Welcome to the Forum.

Is your gun stainless or blued? And, if you provide even a partial serial number some here can tell if it'd be the red box or yellow box.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the welcome...

The serial number starts with 153...is that enough to go on?

Also, it's a stainless.

Thanks, again.

Likely made in 1977-78 ..... any other members here can confirm for us this is the RED box?

I think the box should also have Model GA-32 on the end label.

GreatNate,

I have a spare red Security Six box with an end label that reads; Catalog No. GA-32 - 2 3/4" Bbl. - Adj. Sights. Not perfect, but pretty close. Let me know what you would like to do.

Wow, I just want to say thanks for the help.

She better appreciate this as much as I do!

Well, I think it has gone to that Great Empty Box Resting Ground in the Sky...

Still no sign of it...

Glad you got the label.

Yeah, me too, thanks a bunch.

I'm talking to another member who might still have a box...maybe between his box and your label I'll put it together! :D

Not yet.

I shipped an empty box from Seattle to North Dakota once, and that took ten days...like watching paint dry....

UPDATE: The box showed up.. :D

She absolutely loves the gun.

I had it at the gunsmith shop for a complete "go-through".

At the same time, I had him locate and install a new front site. The previous one was not stainless, and did not have an insert. I think this looks much better.

The grips are brand new, NOS from Ruger. Great deal at $20.00. I put them on after I gut the gun back from the gunsmith.

Here is what she saw under the tree this morning:

Again, thanks for the help, couldn't have done it without help from members of Ruger Forum.

VERY NICE! Your wife is a very lucky woman to have such a good husband and such a fine gun!

GreatNate,

Glad everything came together & your bride was very happy with her Christmas gift. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to play a small part in your quest to surprise her with this special gift.
