Thinking of buying fn 9mm. what you say

I have the SS FNP-9, 4" Barrel and I really like it. It's been a good shooter, very accurate... no jams or extracion problems. It has good ratings from everything I've read. Are you looking new or used, and what model?

The only negative I've heard on them is that they are big for caliber. That is, the 9mm is larger than other 9s out there, and the .45 is just downright huge. Makes the Glock 21 look like a CCW piece.

Everything I've heard about them is nice, nice, nice.

That model wasn't out when I picked up mine about 4 years ago. FN is a good company, make quality guns and have good customer service. I hope it works out well for you.

FN is a great company, but for me it's weird thinking of them as a "US" company (and yes, I see that it's now "FNH USA"). "Fabrique Nationale" aka FN Herstal has always been a Belgian company...

Oh well, if there's one thing particularly dodgy about this industry it's "who owns who" as far as brand names go.

Yeah, and I think they're all owned by yet someone else, who in turns owns a number of powder and primer companies. The name isn't coming to me right now, thought.

I have a "Winchester" shotgun that's a Beretta design made by Browning in the FN factory. Seriously.

I have had nothing but the best experiences with FN products. They are a little on the big side. Think H&K. The triggers are great and the quality is in line with CZ handguns. If you've shot many Ruger handguns the size shouldn't be an issue.

There is a deal going on right now through FN that if you purchase before the end of the month you can get a $50 rebate. I can't find the link right now but it's on their site. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on an FN.

I have shot the FN9, and was favorably impressed with it. Nice guns. Not the easiest to find a holster for though.

I'd go for a High Power anytime.
I don't think Browning ever "made" many guns, rather browning licenses their designs to companies such as FN.

I was looking to buy a FNP before I chose to get the SR9c. I read many bad reviews about a lot of people having common problems with the FNP line of pistols so crossed it off my list. You should do some reading online and make your own decision as to whether it's worth anything or not.

I love my FNP. My favorite gun out of all of them out there for the same price. To me its real nice with a smooth trigger and doesnt feel large but fits perfect. The Hogue handall makes it feel even better...

On a side note i've never heard of any problems with the FNP, maybe the FNX. The only problems i've seen with the FNP are aesthetic/fit issues for some people...

I really like my FN9. A good gun and a good value @$399. The ergonomics are superb, and although the gun is fairly large, it is very light weight. If you compare it to the Sig 228 side/side, nthey are quite similar in many respects, but, the FNp9 is about $350 less.
