In the AZ oven (Phoenix basin)
I have one striker fired pistol that has just flat out been bugging me for
quite a while. The let off has been quite rough and the pressure to get
it to go was far more than I was willing to adjust to.

Got to thinking about it and tried the dry (no lubrication on mating
surfaces) "dry fire" to see if metal on metal would gradually make things
better. If it did, I could not tell. Then I thought FLITZ! Since there is
no abrasive in the polish (according to their write up), I thought a little
of that on mating surfaces and dry fire should not hurt, and MAY do a
little good.

Tried that by using a Q-tip to get what sticks to the inside of the top
and applying that to the mating surfaces, reassemble and dry fire.

After ten dry-fire cycles I disassemble the gun, clean out all of the
Flitz and then reapply the Flitz. Did that ten times with ten dry fire
cycles each. After that I cleaned out all of the Flitz, cleaned it again,
and applied a bit of oil.

The most I can say is that it is less bad than it was. No where near
good, just less bad. I think I'll do that once each day for a week or
so and see if there is any improvement. If not, at least I will get in
a bunch of dry firing. :D

Yeah, the trigger on most striker-fired pistols is pretty atrocious. Performing the '50-cent trigger job' on them helps somewhat - it makes them less terrible, anyway. Check YouTube for details.

My SR9 had a crappy trigger until I installed the Ghost Rocket trigger bar. Really improved that pistol. My SR40c on the other hand came our of the box with a good trigger. Who knows why? They're the same setup. I also have a S&W M&P .45 that has a decent trigger except for it's being much heavier than I like. I'll try Burwell Gunsmithing's trigger job on it. They offer the trigger work for $65 and also have a video on how to do it.

BTDT, buy the Apex sear for the gun and be done with it. It made my M&P 45C feel like a totally different gun - and this was after I did the DIY sear mods and polished everything.
