I'm almost ready to start a web page, but can't decide which to try.
I have had pretty much every "free", site under the sun, from tripod, to GoDaddy.....
I'm a bit hesitant to commit, as this new venture is still in the organizational phase.... I was stopped by an uncooperative winter, which cut down my period of free travel.....
So getting into town to log on and drink coffee, was not available to me this past winter.

What I need is an inexpensive page that will let me accept payments, and has an intuitive interface. I was NOT impressed by GoDaddy, but I know that the free sites are pretty limiting.
Shopify??
Until I am ready to really go, I gotta do this on a shoe string.... Same as everything else in my life....

Any suggestions, or recommendations??..... experiences???

I know, that can be a dangerous question here as it can result in information overload!!...

Also the fact that I am trying to build an online business, and presence, and I don't even have internet... nuthin's easy....

Thanks in advance....

ciao y'all.....

See if you can talk with Mas Ayoob, or Kim Komando? Mas helped others to develop internet sales, and Kim is self proclaimed as “THE DIGITAL GODDESS”. She too helps people set up sites. Good luck.

I've had my website going for nineteen years, but I do not charge for any
of the information I have there. As such, I can not offer much from personal
experience. . . . That said, I found a web site that seems to have a summary
of things you need to consider.

Since they offer opinions and provide some of the cost information (about
three percent plus about thirty cents per transaction) but do not push one
or the other, it seems a good place to start research.

Good luck with it. :D

Oops: Found another one:

I run a website on Everweb. It's Mac OS based so if you're not on a Mac it might not be for you. Although it's not free it's not real expensive $99 a year and they give you software to build the site that's a piece of cake to use. I can't testify on taking payments though as my sight is just informational, I don't sell anything. Might be worth checking out for you.

Thanks for the input. I will start looking at the links.... It just sucks having to use public wifi to do this stuff......
I just don't have the patience to sit here very long..... :)
