Finally scored a #1

Been looking for a #1 ever since Lipseys announced their "run" last year. But after seeing the quality of the wood, high prices, and sub par stock fitment I gave up on the Lipsey run. For the last couple of months been checking the auction sites on a regular basis looking for a 30-06 that had nice wood and a fair price. Already have a huge selection of components for the '06 and didn't want to invest more $$ and space into a caliber I didn't already reload for. The rifle found fit the bill nicely and came equipped with one of my favorite hunting scopes, Leupold 2.5x8. The price was fair and the wood is easy on the eyes:

Shots on our property are limited to 50 yards or so. Am positive this rifle will be accurate enough to kill a white tail

Looks like you did great! The Leupy is a $400 scope (probably more now) I have one in gloss on my RSI 7x57 and couldn't be happier. Considering the value of the scope you really did well on the overall package. Hope you get a big one with it!

Looks like you did pretty good on the package deal! Id think even if you knocked $100 off of what that scope would cost you , the rifle ended up darn near 1/2 of what a new one is going for. The 30-06 and a 26" barrel should be a thumper! And in a package about the size of a 22" bolt rifle. I think from the pictures too the seller is pretty low on his grading percentages...looks a lot better than his 85%-90% or whatever he said.

At that price you were the only bidder because I didn't see it. Good looking wood for a black pad gun. This will not be your only No1. I swapped a Remington XP100 for a 30-06 RSI a couple years ago and now have 6 No1s.

It was sort of hidden. After doing a search for #1's didn't see it. Next I did a search by calibers but 30-06 didn't show up. Then went into the "other caliber" list then looked at all the '06's for sale.
