does ruger make a "field repair kit" for the sr 556 / 223 ? if so i havent seen one and also would like to see them make one, i ask ruger customer service if i could order a "bolt" for my sr 556/223 they said they did not sell them separately . :( if this is the case it makes me concerned ... what if theres a problem with the bolt ? no quick fix ? to have an extra : bolt, firing pin, and any other pins and or springs for trigger would be most helpful when needed. ruger should support a field kit and bolt imo

Most of the parts are your basic AR parts, and will fit.... the only proprietary part is the bolt carrier, as far as I know. A standard AR bolt will work, some of the early SR bolts even had the sealing rings on them.

i can see the firing pin not being a problem to replace and the extractor pin / spring, i have all ready upgraded my extractor spring and buffer spring / buffer , but i would like to see them make an option for customers, such as the bolt. i consider it plan B to have these parts on hand. i have not had any problems with my sr 556/223 at this time and to note i have sent ruger a request for a field replacement kit / bolt , i urge anyone else that feels this would be a good option to have...let ruger know as well. options are good to have when you need them.
