FDA Recalls 80K Pounds of Costco Butter from Costco — Label Didn’t Say ‘Contains Milk’

Sorry to say, you can be absolutely/positively sure that if the 40 tons of butter hadn't been recalled that there would have been numerous multi-million $ lawsuits filed by people who ate the butter!

Can butter can be made without milk? Such foolishness.
My favorite "butter" product is made from coconut and cashews. Miyoko's Plant Butter. So, yes there is butte sold that is not made from cow milk.

That the Costco product did not mention cows milk is not a reason to take it off the market and destroyed. Fortunately, it can be relabeled and resold. That is what happens to ground meat impounded for contamination. Some of it is taken back, reprocessed for sterilization and put into foods like Chili con Carne.
 
Reminds me of a former co-worker who’s wife suggested the buy a calf, raise it, and then butcher it, and get all those pork chops!
