late 1968 or 69 Ruger 44 carbine Sporter Finger Groove with the first used pre-fix (100-XXXX) this gun looks like this (1 0-XXXX) thus missing part of the Ser#. (0). there is no such 1 0-pre-fix, making this a rare "Odd-Ball"

If your 44 Carbine Rifle guy? this is a must for your pile! NEVER seen or heard of another one like it.

Agree with you in that I have not seen this before. Could it be a mis strike; broken die???? Does seem odd, however. More pictures??
Anyone else out there observed??

In collector land anything is possible. Have you had this lettered from Ruger?

larry,
i would be hard to letter when there's no such pre-fix to start with, one would think it would letter as 100-XXXX, you would be correct, its a mistake some where in the making of the gun set / type.
