Dr. Pol DVM

I've done or helped do many of the procedures Dr. Pol includes on his TV shows. I've got to say being a large animal vet is dangerous, dirty, and requires a big commitment from everyone in the family. Grouch worked for a female large animal vet for several years doing paperwork, office manager, and taking care of the vet's 3 children. Often, she'd show up at 6:30 AM to find the vet had taken an early call and was already on the road. I always maintained good working facilities but many others didn't. Nothing more dangerous than a 1500# cow on the prod without proper equipment to control her.
A well equipped 'vet truck' will set one back $100-125K (and be worn out in 3-5 years)and a 'clinic' at least that much. My hat is off for anyone who has the gumption to become a vet and the commitment to stick with it.:)

Sadly, I think Dr. Pol's show has reached its end of production at the end of last season. I'm going to miss it. He is 80 yrs old so I guess it was time for him to take a break.

NM, Mom always told me that if I didn't have something nice to say, don't say anything.
