This may be a newbie question, if so I apologize. One of the serious shortcomings of the Standard Catalog of Ruger Firearms is the lack of any information on the distributor exclusive Rugers. My interest is in Revolvers, but it likely affects other firearms. According to the Catalog New Vaqueros are/were built in .357 and .45, yet I have an all blued Vaquero in .44 Special (2010) which must have a distributor exclusive.

Is there any reliable source of information for collectors on these exclusives?

Alright, thanks for the reply. Anyone have any idea who ordered this one from Ruger?

Yup, you're here at it - RF! You won't find a group of more Ruger knowledge anywhere else, including the factory.

Dog....some body in the know about the distributor exclusives should be along any minute now. All my Vaqueros are the older 45colt large frame models with the exception of the 5 out of production New Vaqueros mid frames. I have learned a great deal about my little collection from several of our kind members. But I'll tell right now the ones in the know are enablers for sure, all I was looking for 5 years ago was a single action six gun to have fun with. Last time I counted I was up to 55 and asking myself what am I going to do with all these guns. I'm looking real hard at the new distributor exclusive SS 44mag birdhead, I keep asking myself what could one more hurt

Thank you! I really must be a newbie, I don't know what RENE and chet15(Chad) means.

JPGLSG, I hear you brother, my only salvation will be my safes are small and no place to put more. I am thinking of mobiles...

Thanks Jim Luke, that is what I was looking for. It would sure be interesting history if someone had recorded the exclusives down the years.

Highstandardguy, I knew that, my problem was buying new/old stock, a NIB .44Special 7 years mellow, and no way to look up the distributor.

Thanks All!

Even if you are not a collector per say the information in the quarterly updates are priceless. Have fun.

He Dog, You mentioned a Lipsey model so check out this link to a Lipsey's list of all their exclusives. At the top left select "Archives" and then pick the category you would like to see and you will have a list of links to all their models. The Lipsey models are what I am currently obsessed.

I also found a Talo list. I discovered a new Talo model the "Ruger Short Spur Vaquero" while searching for the link. Thank you for your post I love finding something new.

Thanks Big, those links are a treasure trove of information. Good luck with keeping up with Lipsey models, you going for back issues as well? While I have some distributor exclusives, only those I prefer over the underlying model by the manufacturer.

Thanks again.
