Dilbert

I've been a Dilbert fan forever. When I was still working, I often opened meetings with copies of an appropriate Dilbert strip. So much of that comic strip is dead on correct for corporate culture and behavior. The managers reporting to me seemed to always get a laugh out of Dilbert, sometimes my boss, the CEO of the company, was not so happy at my using them to poke fun at some of the corporate senior staff.
Read the strip daily. From my military days I have equated people in the strip with real life individuals. Sometimes I would think he had been to some of the 'briefings' I attended.

As it took off, he left the phone company, on good terms, and would stop in for coffee once or twice a week to visit his old coworkers and get the latest "corporate silliness" stories for future strips. Acquaintances who'd worked for a couple of different phone companies said the corporate culture of theirs matched his perfectly!

IIRC, Scott Adams worked in a cubicle for 9 years for Pacific Bell. I think I have all his books and for both military and civilian companies I've worked for he hit it dead on perfectly.

Go to CSPAN BookTV. Search on Adams name and you will see a longish book presentation in which he demonstrates a wicked wit and very unconventional ideas. The title of his new book is "Loserthink".
