Decent revolver rest?

Can anyone give me a recommendation on a decent revolver rest? I am trying to sight in a Ruger 44M Redhawk with a red dot sight, and I would like to get something better than a sandbag.

So far, when I find one on line that looks ok, the reviews shoot it down. These have been in the $25-$60 range.

The best one I have found is by Target Systems, reviewed by Gunblast, but it costs over $400.00.

I wouldn't mind spending $100 on a good sturdy one.

Whenever I've tried to rest the barrel and/or butt of a revolver on a firm surface my groups go all to pieces. I prefer to rest my forearms on bags and hold the gun with my hands. It isn't rock steady, but then neither will you be when you take a poke at that buck. Zero at a median distance rather than 100 yards. I sight in 2" high at 50 yards with my 45 Colt which puts me on @ 100. If you sight in off a rest be sure to check your zero off hand afterwards because your POI will shift. Practice like you are going to hunt.

As noted, pistols tend to have a significantly different point of impact when shot from a solid rest then when shot off-hand or from a two-hand unsupported hold. A rest can tell you how well the gun will group but not where it will hit when fired under field conditions.

I use my rifle bench rest. but in a different way. I rest my right wrist on it. It steadies my aim well enough to zero in, test loads, etc, but the point of impact is not affected. I used to rest the barrel of the gun on the bench rest, and found out it made my groups go unpredictable - Sometimes high, sometimes low.
