Sean.... many thanks for getting these videos up.
The Remington Model Six slide action rifle is the checkered walnut variant of the M-7600, which replaced the Model 760. The M760 was and still is prized as a lightning fast pump repeater for North Country deer hunting. Unlike Remington's gas operated cousin, the pump combines real reliability with bolt rifle accuracy. It also lasts longer.
The M6 uses out thick locking lugs to replace the multi-lug, artillery-style bolt head of the the M760.
Ben "Bear Man" Kilham modified the M6 .308 Win into a carbine with 16.8-inch barrel. Ruger supplied a Mini-14 KAC 556 flash hider. Uncle Mike made the big-head safety. A Pachmayr Decelerator sponges recoil. Front sight is a Burris gold post sourdough. The Schmidt & Bender 4x36mm scope features a German #4 reticle (square black bars from 9, 6, and 3 o'clock. Sometimes the carbine wears a Williams Guide peep sight, a northwoods favorite for a couple of generations.
