Custom holsters

How on Earth would you sweep yourself from a cross or any other draw??? The most would be sweeping my arm while drawing from a shoulder holster. I assume anyone who Appendix Carry's likes playing Russian Roulette with their junk.

One of the arguments against cross draw I get is that in using it you must sweep either yourself ir others. My comment was a preemptive attack on those comments.

Another is that an assailant might trap you stong arm against your body when yo draw. Simply executing a cavalry draw, in that case, solves that issue. Should you, for whatever reason, be unable to access your strong side holster with strong side hand, try drawing with your off hand even from the appendix position. Much less any further back.

Heck one of the best things about cross is it’s easy access to both hands.

My problem with cross is that the hammer is out of reach for my thumb. My hand does not naturally fall into place on the gun butt.

Everyone's body and hands are different. Also, part of it is that I've been using cross for almost fifty years. While I sometimes will use strong side it just doesn't feel "right".

Generally you wouldn't want to engage the hammer or trigger before the gun is pointed in the right general direction. I remember explaining to someone how an exposed trigger on a SA holster wasn't a safety issue. When you combine the hammer and trigger engagement prematurely you multiply the possibility of a ND. I tend to find the hammer as the gun settles in my hand and I find the front sight. I'm not sure how the Cowboy Shoot RSO's feel about such things.

A maker you may not know. Does custom work also. Every one I know who has one loves them. https://desertgunleather.com/

Sorry but I will disagree with you. In an emergency situation, my hammer is cocked when the gun is about 45* and coming up. When the gun is level, I press the trigger. Nothing happens until I press the trigger.

That’s the cool part thing about people, we are all different. Find what works for you and ignore experts who tell you their way is the only right way.

Uniformity is great for large organizations but It’s took off my uniform almost 50 years ago. I can do things my way now regardless of what others say.

My latest Custom Holster done. I can wear it Vertical or Horizontal OWB or use a shoulder rig. I'm thinking shoulder rig will be the thing.

Found more from DGL. If you need leather for any North American Arms gun they are the go to.

Lefty pocket holsters? No thumb break is on the wrong side. Putting the flat on the outside breaks up the gun's outline even on snug pants.

Since I needed to buy leather to finish my last holster I have enough for a few more. I'm making one to accommodate my light equipped full size guns. This is my first design. It's a single piece. The more I look at it I think it needs to be 2 pieces more like a semi pancake/shoulder rig.

Another shoulder/OWB with the spare mag. Will work with my light mounted pistols. I'll make a shoulder rig with a dual mag holder on the off side. 4 mags ought to handle most anything I could get into. I'm waiting for green and black dye for tiger stripe camo like I did for my 44mag

Still waiting on my Carnuba Wax finish the 27rnd mag sticks out a little but it should be fine. 2 27rnd mags under my other arm will make for 96rnds of 357sig in a rig I can wear under a Jacket!!! With the optic this is a solid 100yd package. The Beretta without the optic is still a solid performer.
