A coupla months ago I found a nice 150 series 4 inch Security-Six on Gunbroker. It was in really nice shape, and shot really well. Too well, in fact. A buddy at the range took an instant liking for it, and bugged the __ out of me to sell it to him.

So, I gave in the other day and sold it too him. He's happy as a pig in mud. Me? I feel like I lost my right arm. Well- that may be a tiny bit dramatic- the bottom line, though, is I couldn't live without it. So..... I bought another one just like it on Gunbroker.

Hopefully it will be here next week.

I found a 150 prefix Security Six about two years ago in pawn shop. In .357 caliber and 4" barrel, it has become my favorite concealed carry revolver. Feels more compact and lighter that Smith & Wesson K frame revolvers.

The only upgrade I would consider would be a stainless steel Service Six with 4" barrel and fixed sights.

Glad you were able to find another quickly, the Internet is a good tool in finding unique guns.

hittman those are a real nice set of security sixes. They do look like their low backs are they? Bought a 4'' service six fix sights a couple months ago and now had to get a 2 3/4 fix sights. Can't wait to shoot it.

Yep .... s/n 150- low back grip frames on these two.

I have a Speed Six in the 150-99xxx range that's high back and a forum member here has an early 151- Six Series sporting the low back frame. Those "transition" guns are cool too.

Very nice, that's a great looking pair. About 10 years ago I found a new unfired 2-3/4" security six with box and papers, it became my favorite conceal carry in rotation with a SP101 DAO. Unfortunately Its not quite as pristine as it once was in this old photo.

Nice one! That'd really be something if it was a low back frame too.
I've got a couple of those and you're correct, they're great shooters. Perfect size in my book.

I'm a big fan of the Tyler T grips on my Six Series guns too.

I bumped into this one a few months ago. Couldn't believe how tight the lockup was. Don't think it had ever been fired. Had to take it home.

Those are all fine looking Ruger sixguns! A Security Six in 4" is one of the firearms we hope to get one day when we find one in pretty good shape and don't find something else we want more.

my Six series revolver is a 2 3/4" stainless Service Six i round butted and replaced factory front sight with a xs tritium dot front sight....i'd post a pic but have no idea how to do that on this forum 8)

Had an old 4 inch Security Six, traded it. I sure miss it.

A couple years ago I picked up a 150 series (1974) blued 4" Security Six w/fixed sights chambered in .38spl.

I think it was from a police contract. It's a great walkin' around gun for day hikes and gets a fair amount of holster time.
Now, if I could only find some Jay Scott grips for it..........
