Changing Stock on American Rimfire

I have the Compact stock on my rimfire. Can i just buy a full size ruger stock or even an aftermarket one? My son has outgrown the shorter compact stock. I don't see them listed on Rugers website or on midway.

Is the stock the same length, regardless? Is it the module that is the difference between the standard and the compact model? Is the barrel the same length on a compact as it is on the standard one?

I would call Ruger on Monday as they can best answer all of your questions, but this might also help.

You bought a whole new stock or you just added the full size module to the compact stock?

I've seen the 'full size' stock module on ebay priced fairly reasonably. I think you just unscrew the rear sling stud and swap it out.

The stocks are the same, the modules are the only difference, the barrels are shorter on the compact models compared to the standard rifles, 18" vs 22"

Yeah bought the compact in 22 mag myself. Wanted the 18 inch barrel. Ordered the standard stock module from Ruger. Only $20 I think which gives another 1 1/4 inches LOP which makes a difference. Like the synthetic stock myself which is not chintzy and makes for a light woods varmint rifle.

I bought the compact because I wanted the Williams Fire Sights and then added this to increase length of pull to adult size:
