Does anyone have an easy recipe for making this stuff? And a source for the ingredients? thanks.
 
There's a temperature stable way using the the stuff you can make fishing lures with that's available in 5gal buckets. Plastisol and Lurecraft have the goo. Real gelatin you can melt and reset multiple times until it gets too dirty. Same with Plastisol.

is the temp. stable way as rigid as the gel mold type?
 
Probably more. It's the stuff fishing worms are made of. You really have to melt it . Regular gelatin will melt at anything above room temperature so if using in the summer you'll need a cooler. Neither is calibrated ballistic gel but it will get the job done. You can cross-reference what something does in calibrated gel compared to what you are using to calculate what it would do in ballistic gel. If a known load penetrates 12" in calibrated ballistic gel and 7" in Plastisol then 7/12 or 12/7 would be your correction factor.
