Anyone know anything about this Williams mount

First one I have seen like this:

I think it is their version of a quick detachable mount so that if the scope gets damaged during a hunt, it can be removed in the field and the iron sights can be used. 8)

They've been around for a long time - still made, check out Midway for some current versions. I have a few on older rifles - Remington 141, Remington 81. Pretty good set up. Large screw into the base, turn the wheels to loosen. One of the rings (rear IIRC) has an off center screw set up so you have some lateral adjustment.

No surprise that it's on a sporterized 1903, very popular about 50 years back.

You need a steel Weaver or old Herters scope on that for the period correct look. :wink:

You have a vintage Williams Quick Convertible Scope Mount base & rings, once made in both top-mount & side-mount versions with the rings mounted centrally over the bore or offset to one side (reversible to either a RH or LH offest).

Williams still offers the side-mount base, and rings that will match the ones on your file, should you ever want to mount/zero an extra scope for different shooting/hunting, or as an instant field replacement for a damaged scope.
