Another Ruger

Well, I just couldn't help myself. I had to do a little bit of self gifting as my wife won't buy me firearms. I have to do it all by myself. :mrgreen:

I just acquired a new Mark IV Target. I am looking forward to getting it out to the range one evening this week. I LOVE how this current model breaks down and reassembles compared to my Mark III!!!

I am on three to four weeks of waiting now for a Mark IV Hunter. It will be interesting how long it will actually take.

it went so so at the range but only because the rear adjustable sight only adjusts one way. I think it should go both ways but the screw only moves in the clockwise position. I do have a call into Ruger regarding the adjustment issue.

But...it ran well on a truly mixed supply of ammo, it is accurate and it fits my hand well to boot. I'm glad I purchased it!

That's the first one I've seen. Very nice!

It looks a lot like my Mk II except for the ambi safety and that rear take down button.

It is a HELL of a lot easier to break down than the Mk II! I like that!

MKIV, waiting because there are absolutely none out there. I have the Hunter Model on order. You can buy the Target Model all day long, but no Hunters anywhere. I prefer to give my LGS the business anyway, I know he is actively searching for one and he will get it eventually as soon as his distributors get one and cut loose of it.

Waiting will be OK but you would think before they put the Mark IV out they would have mad enough to distribute. That way they would not have the major backorder at the distributers. I bet though I get one not to long after the Holidays.

ahhh...I noticed some "Out of Stock" messages on some of the firearm sales sites for the Hunter model. You are right, they are a bit hard to find right now. I prefer the bull barrel model and have some new hi-vis sights coming from TandemKross. For some reason I can't get the rear sight to adjust in the proper direction. Either I have to release some spring tension or, as was suggested to me, freeze the sight and screw. Interesting concept.
