I have been weighing my options for a pocket pistol and finally bought the OD Green LCP today. Came home and took it apart and gave it a good cleaning - this gun had more oil in it than any I've ever seen - definitely worth cleaning prior to shooting.

Here are the first 5 shots, two hand hold, 7 yds, American Eagle FMJ.

Or, I should say 5 of the first 6 rounds - not sure where that first one printed - had to get used to the trigger pull on the first shot :) ; the 2nd shot was the flyer to the right at 3:00; then I finally got it together.

I ran a total of 30 rounds through it with no problems at all. I am really pleased with this gun! Came in and gave her a good cleaning. Now, to go on-line and order a good pocket holster.

I used FMJ for target practice; but picked up a box of Winchester Supreme Elite bonded personal protection ammo for carry. I will go out and shoot a round of this later this evening.

I had found in the recent 95F+ degree days we have been having, I had gotten in the habit of just not carrying my SP101; so I think this LCP is the perfect gun for shorts and T-shirt carry.
Thanks Ruger for another great carry option!

Congrats!

BTW, it looks like your sixth shot is on the extreme right edge of the target, just to the right of the one in the 7 ring. :D

Same as Pops.. No problems at all. Ive put about 150 through mine without a hiccup. It is a great carry gun for summer time.

Another new LCP lover here. Yesterday, fired the first 212 rounds flawlessly. At this point I feel the little pistol is ready for action. For my carry weapons I do a monthly test...I pull the pistol cool and clean, fire a mag full as fast as the range will allow, change mags and fire it a little slower but until empty. If I get both mags fired without error I increase my confidence 10%. My first of these tests won't be for a couple more weeks so at this point I'm only 100% confident....

As for holsters, I use an Uncle Mike for IWB, a FOBUS for OWB on my hip, a Nemeis (sp) for pocket but my favorite is the little Bulldog fanny pouch that came with my Tarus TCP.

I like the idea of firing 2 mags once a month. Wyatt Earp fired 12 rounds every morning, according to Bat Masterson, his roommate, and then obviously re-loaded. Sounds good to me.

It's a great gun, I like having the option of either a Crossbreed Minituck, or a cheap Uncle Mikes IWB holster (size 10, model 8910-1). The little Uncle Mike's holster works great for when I need to make a quick trip to the store, it clips right in and disappears, even under mesh athletic shorts and a tshirt. Elastic waist mesh shorts can hold up the LCP easily, it's so light.
