I looked at it some time back. The number was nice - the rest of it wasn't for me.

That one was "gone" a long time ago. It's unfortunate that this has to happen to what, in retrospect, become rare rifles.

I'd say yes, definitely, if you have the period correct barrel and wood, AND you'd have to be sure it shipped as the caliber and barrel contour/length that you have. Otherwise, while a lot better than now, it's just another variation of "altered". My $.02.

It shipped as a 308 "AB" S22LL the second most common non prefix.
Nothing was correct with the exception of the serial number. The butt stock was cutt. So evev if you had the correctrecoil pad, you would still need a butt stcck with the correct period shape, finish and checkering pattern. Then you would have needed a SenMi Beavertail forearm with the correct "A" inletting. Then the correct Douglas 308 barrel.
Even if you had everything the lilelyhood the date stamps in the stocvk would be correct would be almost zero.
So when you got done you'd have a cobbled together rifle that nothing marches on, even if period correct.
As one meber pointed out, it's either a factory original correct rifle, or it isn't. This one can nevr be, which is why so many serious #1s guys thhat looked at it, passed.
Get done and you'll have an $800 shooter. After spending $500 - $800 not counting the purchase of the rifle.
If you sell it are you going to tell the purchaser, oh by the way, it's got a replaced stock, butt pad and barrel, which would be the only honest thing to do.
