Anyone else attracted to the new African Model M77? I feel a 9.3X62 is calling my name. I need it about like I need a hole in the head, but... :D

I saw that. Its a classic cartridge (evoking visions of south africa and the Boers) and a perfect elk gun. It would work for deer with a lighter bullet, too.

What would really be cool would be to have a brace of african rugers. One chambered for 9.3x62mm and the other one chambered for .223 rem.

I have a CZ 550 American in 9.3 x 62. Love the thing. Doesn't kick any harder than a 308, puts all those big old bullets in little cloverleaf clusters. Would love to take it moose hunting, but they seem pretty scarce here in NC. Also have a # 1 in 9.3 x74R; same ballistics, just about as much fun to shoot.

The x62 is easy to load, a case full of RL15 or Varget and you are good to go. Hornady has brass and loaded ammo, as do others. You could even form cases from 30-06, but no need to bother. Go for it. We only get one lap on the track of life.......
