AND it wasnt too far off from the truth. :D

But related to that. Does anyone have any personal experience with the CZ 97? .45 ACP.

I'm considering one and have general questions about them. Accuracy, build quality, frame construction etc.

I have shot both models, wide and big in comparison to a full size 1911. Well built, nice finish in polycoat and the blued ones have crisp lines but not a deep blue, more satin. Very accurate guns, recoil is different than a 1911, different push for sure. I don't own one, it's on the list but there are many on the list.
If you get one for a good price and like to shoot .45 a lot, it would be fun to have for sure.

I'll chime in.

Great guns, very accurate guns, typical CZ build quality and reliability .... but they're HUGE.

About 5 years ago I was convinced I had to have one in my early CZ buying frenzy. I almost bought one sight unseen from the internet. Then I happened to see one at a gun store, and after holding it and playing with it, realized it is just too damn big. And I have big hands.

The only advice I can give you is DO NOT BUY IT SIGHT UNSEEN. NO MATTER WHAT ... handle one in person. I am SOOOOOO glad I didn't buy the one before I handled one.

You've been warned ..... :D

No better advice ever given.I bought a few handguns early on from the advice of friends that did not fit my hands and/or style of shooting.I now only buy a handgun that fits my hand, aimpoint and has the features I want.Feeling comfortable with a handgun is the very first key to successfully shooting it.
