A Couple Minis .......

Greetings Folks;

I just inherited a couple Mini 14s. One 180 Series and one 181.
The 181 (1979 vintage) I'm not too worried about.

But ...

If I decide to shoot the 180 (1976 "200th Year ..." 8) ), what should I be concerned about ..... should I start scouring the inter-webs for any particular parts that Ruger no longer provides? What, if anything, tends to go wrong with them?

I don't think Ruger offers parts for the 180 series anymore but they still offer parts for the 181. Others can verify that or you could always call Ruger and ask.

However, you need to post pictures of these heirlooms!

Wait .... !?!?! "Heirlooms" I'm older than these Minis. I was in college in '76 and married to Mrs. v1.0 in '79.

My kids keep tellin me I'm old ...... guess they're right.

I have that exact same gun except for the scope mount.
I have shot it quite a bit and haven't had any problems yet.

Thanks .... I own a small business called Collectible Cameras so I have a set up for pictures for my website and (the evil) ebay.

I inherited 20 Rugers (to add to the two I already owned) from my Dad when he and Mom went to assisted living. Nearly all of them have been in 'storage' since the '80s. Mostly handguns but these two minis, a couple 10/22, a #1 and a #3 ......

So .... on one hand I'm a ruger collector. On the other hand maybe a few $$$$.
