Need powder suggestions to download 8mm to drive a 170-ish gr to about 1,800-2000 fps. Temperature stability would be a plus also.

I like sr 4759 for such downloading, bulky and accurate at lower pressures.
You will need to check the numbers but my best guess is to start around
18-20 grains, possibly working your way up or down depending on results.

Hi,

Lead bullets or jacketed?

If lead, the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook probably has some recipes, and Lee's "Modern Reloading" has a formula for downloading jacketed data to use w/ lead.

Please let us know, and I'll look thru what I've got here to see if there's anything worthwhile...

With rifle loads I usually look to H-4895 when I want to reduce loads. If you have data for that powder from Hodgdon you can go down a fair amount(60% rule). If you want lower than that time to look for other alternatives.

The most comprehensive example to date in my opinion.
