funny you should mention, I just so happen to have one in the locker. I had it built back in the 80's from a 458 barreled action I picked up.
If the weather dries out a little, I'll try to get some pics this weekend.
things I recall,
after chambering and having Bishop to stock it, I tried it out and it was throwing rounds every where due to ding in the crown.
had the crown recessed and did a fine bead blast black finish and installed a Leupold 1X5. a day's shooting was 10 rounds from the bench.
I commented to the shop that put her together, "if I see two flashes in the scope(red then blue), the bullet was dead on. If I only saw one flash (blue), I missed the target" after some guesses about something with reload problems, I told him "the first red flash was the muzzle blast, the second blue flash were my eyeballs hitting the back of thier sockets, those shots seeing two was I didn't flinch, seeing just blue was I had closed my eyes before firing"
the last interesting finding was the efect of recoil on shoot point of impact. for bench shooting, looking through the bore at the target, the scope would also be on target. However for off hand the scope had to be lowered a LOT
I also recalls the shop owners surprise when he helped carried the cased finished rifle to my work car. a hot rod, primered Dodge Charger with all but the driver's seat removed. he said he was expecting at least a BMW or MB after what I put into this project
