I never thought I would have a problem getting a hold off 357 magnums for my GP100 , I know 22LR are like rocking horse sh!t to get but 357 magnums WTF I went to about 6 gs not one had any 357 magnums in stock , they had self defence rounds but im not paying $30 for a box of 20 to shoot at the range , my gun is brand new i wanted to see how it performed with the magnums . Thank god for 38 specials .

There's a 357 mag shortage  I must live under a rock didn't hear a thing about it, been loading my own 357 for so long I never noticed, I have plenty of supplies and just reload as needed.

Check out gunbot - you should be able to find some to feed your GP100:

Thanks Laserbait very useful info .

I found a couple of boxes of 180 grainers recently. Not too long ago I picked up some Federal 158 gr JSP's. Not exactly meet my needs but I got some. I'm always on the look out for something in ammo. Did pick up 1000 9mm UMC's not too long ago. Couldn't find them today when I looked. At Cabelas they had a descent supply of 110 grain SJHP's in 50 round boxes. I forget the exact price but they were $34+ per box. Was looking for more along the line of 158grain or more.

I reload for 357 also. But a week or so ago I had some extra cash and wanted more brass so I just bought a box of factory ammo instead.

I wonder if it is your area because the stores around here have plenty of almost everything except. .22. I bought a box of Winchester at Walmart.

Was in local cabelas a couple of days ago, plenty of everything except .22lr.

Cabelas has some lead semi wad cutter target 357 for 40-50 cents a round. Limited supplies.

You are correct, besides hunting and defense rounds for a buck a bullet, full power 357 target stuff is not abundant at all.

Not sure where in Va. you live but Clark brothers guns in Fauquier or Greentop down by Richmond should have some. Give them a call.

I just checked Midway. Yep there is a 357mag shortage. :(

I haven't seen average priced 357, or 45 colt here for a long, long time. Has been quite some time since I've seen 45 auto or 38spl, either. Same with 22lr, although much worse. The high dollar stuff is there, but I can't justify spending that much. Fortunately, powder and primers are coming back around. Brass is tougher to find, but periodically available.

A couple years back at least locally I started noticing .357 dry up and that's when I decided not only to handload but cast my own bullets. I have not bought .357 since and I have more than I can hope to shoot in a long time and the ability to make a lot more, and I do all this with a simple little Lyman 310 tool. The only thing I don't load myself is .22 LR and my shotgun shells and I intend to change the shotgun ammo situation by the end of this year.
