No dog in the hunt and don't collect em but was in the St. louis cabelas today and they had a nice lookin little flatgate in the used pistol case for $325.00.Don't know if thats good or not but figured you guys would.

There are four basic variations of those old Single-Sixes with the Flat Loading Gates. Most follow a pattern and fall into "groups" of Type I, Type II, Type III and Type IV.

If you can get the serial number, you can get pretty close to what type it is. They are as follows:
Type 1...1-2000
Type 2...2000-24700
Type 3...18600 to 51500
Type 4...49000 to 62000
Then there is the flatgate Tri-Color Lightweight, but you probably saw the all-steel version.
