1st time out with my SR9 and I am impressed. 250 rounds and perfect !!This is now my favorite gun. Gave it a good clean and lube out of the box and had some fun today. Thought I was going to have to break it in or adjust the sights, but nope. Tried the backstrap both ways and I like the flat the best. Its a blackened SS, thank you Ruger good job

I agree 100%! My SR9 works good, looks good and feels good! It quickly became my fovorite gun. I liked my everyday SR9 so well I went and got one just to put up. I told the guy at the gun shop that I go to when I went and got it that my right hand liked it so well that I wanted one for my left hand.

I do not have my SR9 anymore. :-( I traded it for a 1911. I am sorry I did that. Anyways I had put 450 through it with not a single problem. I have a SR9c now and it is my favorite. But I miss my SR9.

Bought my SR9 last Saturday adn put 200+ rounds thru it last Sunday afternoon. No problems. Put another 150+ thru it Saturday morning. Still no problems. Also the most accurate, easiest shooting handgun I own. Own 2 Rugers, other one is a 4" GP100, which is a great gun in its own right. Thinking about getting my kid a P95 for Christmas - she puts her hands on every one of them we see at the gun shows.

I've had an SR9c on order since June 25th. GunBroker has a ton of them but I want to stick with my dealer. He is giving me a good price and he has treated me well in the past. However, if something does'nt happen soon I will be the proud owner of a new XD subcompact.

It took about 200 rounds for my SR9 to settle down, early stoves and failure to return to battery. I think what helped mine most was running a box of +p through it. It worked fine with those and has not missed a beat since then with any type ammo.

Had one SR9 that I lost in a house fire that I had about 8K rounds through with 0 malfunctions it was such a great gun and today I finally had the money to go out and buy another one. This time instead of the stainless and black polymer I got the olive drab polymer frame with the black stainless slide. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet, but I'm sure it will be just like my first one.

Sorry you lost the gun but 8k rounds through an approx. $400 gun is about 5 cents a shot, plus ammo. and care. Lets say six cents a shot with the maintenance. Pretty economical, all things considered. I hope you got reimbursed the whole price of the gun through insurance.

One of the ways I look at a firearm like this one is a cost-per-shot basis. If you buy a $1,000 gun and put 10,000 rounds through it, that's still 10 cents a shot.

What it also tells you right away is that if you shoot in volume, the major price isn't the gun - it's the ammunition - and it doesn't make much sense for a manufacturer to try to get the price of the gun substantially lower than that by cutting corners, because the purchase price becomes an ever-diminishing fraction of the total cost of ownership the more rounds you shoot.

If I manage to put 8,000 rounds through my SR9 in the entire time I own it, and then it falls apart like Jake and Elwood's car in the Blues Brothers on the last round, it's worth it.

Both my SR9's are great guns. They shoot where I point them and they do it everytime I squeeze the trigger. Can't beat that.
